The US military replied to recent North Korean missile launches on Saturday by flying two supersonic bombers alongside South Korean and Japanese fighters.

North Korea attracted international condemnation on Friday after testing an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of carrying multiple nuclear weapons

And with a range that could reach anywhere on the US mainland.

The United States and its regional allies blasted the move, accusing Pyongyang of aiming to destabilise the area in order to strengthen its nuclear programme

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly observed the launch of the ICMB on Friday with his wife

And "dear daughter," signalling his growing confidence in Pyongyang's ability to compete with top militaries such as the United States' armed forces.
