Chris Hemsworth is taking a sabbatical from acting after sharing his Alzheimer's risk.

Chris Hemsworth has announced that he will take a vacation from acting following the discovery of an elevated risk of Alzheimer's disease.

The actor announced this week that he had a genetic tendency to the condition

which he discovered after undergoing a series of genetic testing while working on the docuseries Limitless. 

Doctors on the show informed Hemsworth that he possesses two copies of a gene linked to Alzheimer's disease-related dementia, which affects only 3% of the population.

"It definitely triggered something in me to desire to take some time off," he explained. And, since we concluded the concert, I've been fulfilling the tasks for which I was already hired."
