As the war in Ukraine is in its third month and Europe is experiencing one of its greatest humanitarian crises since World War II – Pragmatic Play (a: “content provider to the iGaming and Betting industry”) has joined a growing number of Gambling companies to help fund humanitarian aid in war-torn Ukraine.
More About Pragmatic Play’s Donation
According to Gambling News, Pragmatic Play donated $125,000 to the Red Cross to be used for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. According to Pragmatic Play’s website, the donation is aimed at the support that includes:” financial assistance, food, clothing, water, and psychosocial care”.
This such care has already been supplied by the Red Cross to help ease the Humanitarian crisis, created by Russia’s aggression, in both Ukraine and Europe. More specifically Pragmatic Play states that the donation to the Red Cross will provide for: “the well-being and safety of (Ukraine) families through the humanitarian organization.” According to their website CEO of Pragmatic Play, Julian Jarvis stated: “The conflict in Ukraine has deeply touched us at Pragmatic Play. We have valued colleagues and their families directly affected and we are keen to help them and the wider community in Ukraine in whatever way we can. Our contribution will help ensure that the incredible work that the Red Cross undertakes can continue, and those caught up in the crisis will be able to receive much needed humanitarian support.”
Pragmatic Play Joins Growing Number Of Donors To Help Ukraine
This being stated, according to Gambling News, Pragmatic Play, is not the only gambling company to have recently donated funds to humanitarian aid during the war between Russia and Ukraine – as big names like Parimatch and Stake.com have also donated towards the war-torn countries’ humanitarian aid. Furthermore, Gambling News also stated that an umbrella of companies banded together to provide $333,000 aid to Ukraine through what is known as the Gaming Industry for Ukraine initiative. This is, according to Gambling News: ‘a charitable campaign hosted by various gambling industry stakeholders” which originally undertook to provide $333,000 in relief efforts and humanitarian aid in Ukraine. This initiative since meeting its original goal of raising $333,000 of humanitarian aid from stakeholders in the gambling industry, has continued to ask for contributions for the same cause.
What The Red Cross Has To Say
Even though Pragmatic Play is not alone in its humanitarian aid for the war-torn country, such a generous donation from Pragmatic Play has been very appreciated by the British Red Cross. In this light Edward Davies, the Gibraltar Red Cross Chairman stated: “Our work is vital as we look to bring aid to those most in need, and through financial assistance from those such as Pragmatic Play, we can make a difference. We are incredibly appreciative of this donation and would like to express our thanks to Pragmatic Play.”
In this light, it seems realistic that this donation will go a long way to providing humanitarian aid and help ease the suffering of victims of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
To conclude, perhaps gamblers and consumers alike can see that even some of the money they have lost – has gone to a good cause. That is financial aid for war-torn Ukraine. However, this does not justify problem gambling (as gambling must be responsible). It does, however, show how the legitimate iGaming and Betting sector can change the world – and how, according to Gambling News, such a company does not take an ‘indifferent’ stance to this current humanitarian crisis. Indeed, such companies and stakeholders in the gambling sector seem to be focusing on their social responsibility.
